Most Popular Ghanaian Footballers

My recent favorite thing is sports. I do not know how sports suddenly became something that I love but sports particularly football is my new favorite.

Sports in general has many aspects and it includes running, swimming, football, volleyball, basketball, among others. 

Ghana has got talent when it comes football. We have always excelled in sports especially football. Football has a way of uniting people and that makes me even love this sport so much.

The following are some of the most popular footballers in Ghana:

Asamoah Gyan- was born and raised in Accra. He completed his senior high school education at Accra Academy. Asamoah Gyan is one of Ghana’s legendary football personalities. Asamoah Gyan is a very talented Ghanaian footballer who did very well for himself and his country, Ghana, during his football  years. He played for the Ghana National Football team, the BlackStars and he became Captain of the BlackStars after some few years of Hard work. Asamoah Gyan is the most popular African player on the World Cup tournament stage. In 2010, Ghana qualified for the World Cup tournament for the first time and Asamoah Gyan became the star of Africa when the tournament ended. Asamoah Gyan, a very prolific striker, made his name in FIFA 2010 World Cup with his goal skills and hard work. Asamoah Gyan, in my opinion, is the greatest Ghanaian striker of all time. He is Ghana’s top goal scorer. Asamoah player for Sunderland and other football clubs in Europe.

Stephen Appiah- is another talented football personality from Ghana who played for the Ghana National Football team, the BlackStars. Stephen Appiah was also the captain of the National team at a point in time. He is very hardworking and disciplined sportsman. Stephen Appiah is currently a member of the technical team of Ghana’s National football team.

Michael Essien – is another popular Ghanaian football personality whose work was felt in Africa and Europe. Essien played for Chelsea Football Club and other teams in Europe. Michael Essien is honored for his hard work at Chelsea and the Ghanaian National Football team. He currently married to Ghanaian stylist, Ama Serwaa.

Dede Ayew- is a very talented Ghanaian footballer. Dede Ayew is the son of legendary Ghanaian footballer, Abedi Pele Ayew. Abedi Pele is one of Africa’s most talented football players and his two sons, Jordan Ayew and Dede Ayew are currently following his footsteps. Dede Ayew initially played for the under twenty Ghana National Football team, in which he was a captain in 2009. Dede Ayew as a captain of the under twenty Ghana national football team won the 2009 under twenty World Cup. After that historic achievement, Dede Ayew was promoted to the senior national football team, BlackStars, and he has since been an integral member of the National team. Dede Ayew is also the captain of the BlackStars and his determination, hard work and eloquent leadership skills has earned him the respect of Ghanaians and Africans. He is currently playing for Nottingham Forest Football club.

Jordan Ayew – is my second favorite football player after the legendary, Asamoah Gyan. Jordan Ayew is one of Ghana’s best football strikers of all time. Jordan Ayew is the son of legendary Ghanaian footballer, Abedi Pele Ayew. Abedi Pele is one of Africa’s most talented football players and he made a name for himself across Africa. Jordan currently play for Crystal Palace. He is a very calm and respectful person and I like him so much. Jordan is always about his work on the field and all about team work. He also play for the Ghana National Football team, Ghana BlackStars. He came to the team at a very young age and he is now a senior player in the football team.

Thomas Partey- is currently the most popular and most paid Ghanaian footballer. He started his football career in his hometown in the Eastern Region and made it to the Ghana National Football team after some few years. Thomas Partey currently play for Arsenal Football Club. He has already played football for Athletico Madrid Football club and other European teams. Thomas Partey also plays for the Ghana National Football team, the BlackStars, but his output at the National Football team is lower than what he gives to club side at Arsenal Football Club. 

Mohammed Salisu – is one of the best defenders to come from Ghana. He is a young Ghanaian footballer who play for Southampton in Europe. He started playing community football in Saabo city in Kumasi, Ghana, before he finally made it to Europe. Mohammed Salisu made his debut for the Ghana National Football team at this year’s World Cup at Qatar. 

Kudus Mohammed- is the rising star now. Kudus is currently on form and impressing everyone with his consistent goals. Mohammed Kudus is a young Ghanaian footballer who started his career from Dream Academy, a youth football academy in Ghana that has trained a lot of talents in Ghana over the years. Mohammed Kudus currently plays for Ajax, but there are big teams chasing after him.

Abdul Salis Samed- is a very talented Ghanaian midfielder and he currently plays for FC Lens. Salis Samed made his debut for the Ghana National Football team, BlackStars a month before the friendly matches prior to the World Cup In Qatar. He is one of Ghana’s midfielders at the moment.

Afriyie Barnieh- is the most popular domestic football player in Ghana. He plays for Accra Hearts of Oak. Afriyie Barnieh is a very talented striker and he earned a call up at the Ghana National Football team and he was part of the Qatar World Cup squad that represented Ghana. 

Daniel Kofi Kyereh- is my favorite midfielder at the moment. He is a very intelligent footballer and he plays for SC Freiburg in Germany. Daniel Kofi Kyereh was born in Ghana but relocated to Germany when he was very young. He is a hardworking footballer and many Ghanaians admire his commitment to the Ghana National Football team.
